Life in Seoul
As a global hub that seamlessly blends 14th-century palaces with 5G-integrated cityscapes, Seoul provides the ultimate laboratory for academic and personal growth.
Academics
- University Partnership: Scholars complete 120 hours of Korean language instruction—the equivalent of two full semesters—over a six-week term at Ewha Womans University.
- Rigor and Attendance: To maintain the integrity of the university partnership, we adhere to strict attendance policies; in Korean universities, more than five absences typically result in an automatic failing grade.
- Linguistic Trajectory: By the end of the program, even students with no prior background are expected to read, write, and navigate daily social interactions with confidence.
Residential Life
Scholars reside in safe, centrally located residence halls in districts like Yongsan or Sinchon, ensuring easy access to campus and cultural hubs.
Residential fees are all-inclusive, covering high-speed Wi-Fi, utilities, and laundry facilities.
To ensure student safety, at least two staff members reside on-site at all times, providing 24/7 support and security.
Housing is designed to encourage peer interaction while respecting the need for private study space, with options for requested roommates.
Food & Dietary Restrictions
Three meals per day are included, introducing students to local staples like bibimbap and seasonal temple cuisine.
We specialize in accommodating restrictions that are often less common in Korea, including Halal, Kosher, Vegan, and specific food allergies.
All students with dietary restrictions receive a custom, laminated Korean-language card detailing their dietary needs to ensure safe and clear communication at local eateries.
We maintain a zero-incident record for food-related emergencies by providing students with the tools to identify ingredients and choose restaurants with reliable allergen protocols.
Individualized Capstone Project (ICPs)
Fridays are dedicated to your specific professional or creative trajectory through a recurring individualized class or project. SeoulQuest’s signature bespoke activities program allows students to hone a current skill or cultivate a new one under expert guidance.
Develop your craft in fashion design, architectural photography, journalism, music production, or video production.
Practice Taekwondo, Korean cooking, Seoye (Calligraphy), Minhwa (Folk Painting), or traditional dance.
Explore modern Korea through K-makeup, shadowing at a skincare company, or Korean Sign Language.
Engage with the global influence of contemporary Korea through K-pop dance, K-makeup and skincare, or shadowing at a skincare company.
Expand your cultural fluency by exploring Seoye (Calligraphy), Hanja, or Korean Sign Language.
For the most ambitious scholars, we offer the opportunity to collaborate with PhD-level researchers to craft an original research question and produce a formal research paper during the SeoulQuest program.
Students attend these sessions once per week for six weeks, culminating in a Graduation Showcase where they present the skills and projects they have developed.
